Mammoth’s range of Emissions Control filters include full wall-flow Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) engineered to physically capture and oxidise up to 99.99% of diesel particulate matter (DPM) while reducing carbon dioxide, oxides of nitrogen and hydrocarbons from contaminating the air we breathe.

Mammoth has the largest aftermarket retrofit DPF systems range, covering virtually all diesel-powered underground mining equipment as well as standard and bespoke solutions for any diesel powered equipment. Our DPF range includes continuously regenerating systems, sintered metal filters and partial DPFs.

How does a DPF work?

Diesel Particulate Filters are a type of emissions aftertreatment device which trap soot particles from the engine exhaust preventing them from reaching the environment.

Unlike a catalytic converter which is designed to reduce gas-phase emissions flowing through the catalyst, the particulate filter traps and retains the solid particles until the particles can be oxidised or burnt in the DPF itself, through a process called regeneration.

Using a CAT AD45 as a sample case a Mammoth produced DPF achieved the following emission reductions:
