How often do you need to change an air intake filter?

Air filters should be checked and serviced as a normal part of planned maintenance activities, typical OEM recommended frequencies are every 250 hours or as much as daily if dust conditions are severe – most OEM systems will provide an inlet restriction value as part of the ECM to indicate when the air filters need service or replacing

What is the purpose of air intake?

An air intake box is an empty chamber on the inlet of most combustion engines, it draws in cooler air from the outside environment and feeds this through the intake hoses/pipe work and filters to allow both cool and clean air into the combustion system.
